About the role

The Senior Policy Officer, Key Worker Accommodation will work closely with other NSW Health Entities and Government agencies on key health worker accommodation related matters to coordinate, develop and communicate complex policies to support NSW Health to implement a statewide policy framework for key worker housing. You’ll be diving into policy and legislation analysis and researching business-as-usual activities to drive innovative policy reform projects in the key worker housing space. 
 

Whether it’s drafting policies, managing stakeholder consultations, or supporting the development of a new technological solution, your work will directly contribute to key worker attraction and retention which leads to improved clinical services. You’ll be staying across the latest developments in key worker housing, which calls for sharp research skills, clear communication, and the ability to gather people together to achieve program deliverables. 
 

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Developing and managing program objectives associated with policy and operational reform. 

  • Designing and tailoring engagement approaches to a diverse and geographically-dispersed stakeholder group. 

  • Managing stakeholder consultation and working groups to gather data and support policy formulation and development of a technological solution.

  • Supporting the implementation of key worker accommodation policy and driving efficiencies. 

  • Coordinating the implementation of operational systems, asset management practices and workflows to ensure key worker accommodation optimisation. 

  • Preparing papers, submissions, reports and correspondence to ensure briefs and other documentation accords with the Health and Government guidelines.
     

About you 
We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Experience in policy development and analysis within a government or regulatory setting. 

  • Proficiency in coordinating multi-stakeholder consultations and working groups to support policy and program delivery.

  • Ability to manage and interpret program data to track progress, identify emerging issues, and inform decision-making. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members. 

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 

  • A solid understanding of how government works or experience interpreting/implementing policies that support Government agencies. 

  • Experience or knowledge in supporting the development of technological solutions which support policy implementation.
     

Essential requirements of the role

  • Experience in policy development and working within structured frameworks such as government, corporate governance, or regulated environments, with the ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and policy. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in key worker housing is preferred.
