Join the Health Workforce Taskforce for an exciting opportunity as a highly organised policy officer to provide comprehensive support in a committee secretariat role. You will play a key role in smooth and efficient operation of the Taskforce and support for its members who include senior workforce policy executives from each state and territory and Commonwealth health departments. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic policy environment and contribute to growing the health workforce needed to support the Australian community.

The Health Workforce Taskforce leads national health ministers’ workforce priorities and is Chaired by the Director General, Department of Health, Western Australia. You will coordinate the business of the Taskforce including agendas, minutes, meetings papers and provide support to members and assist with finances and projects related to Taskforce business. You will work in a supportive workforce policy team located in the NSW Ministry of Health which manages the secretariat on behalf of all health jurisdictions.

Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $113,574 - $125,720 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Experience in providing effective secretariat or executive support.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Microsoft Teams and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment
  • Understanding of government policy processes and the Australian health workforce

  2. The Health Workforce Taskforce Secretariat engages with a range of stakeholders including Taskforce members, government agencies and non-government stakeholders. Please describe a project you have been part of where stakeholder engagement was key – outline the different strategies used and your role in these.
