About the role

The Manager, AOD Harm Reduction team leads AOD Harm Reduction strategy delivering state-wide programs and policy. Leads the NSW Health response to harm reduction at music festivals to support the delivery of safer music festivals. Other harm reduction initiatives include alcohol harm minimisation, consumer information initiatives, and take-home naloxone initiatives.   

The team works with key AOD and population health stakeholders across NSW and collaborates with others across CAOD. 
  

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 to $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW.

What you'll be doing  

The Manager, AOD Harm Reduction leads and manages the team to deliver the AOD Harm Reduction strategy and policy, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating state-wide AOD harm reduction and minimisation programs and services. 

 You will provide timely advice and information on current and emerging AOD harm reduction legislation, policy, programs, and initiatives, to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations, related government agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure issues are satisfactorily addressed. 
 

 You will build effective, collaborative, professional partnerships with consumers and key stakeholders within NSW Health, other government agencies and non-government organisations, which facilitate the delivery of effective, safe and high-quality harm reduction and minimisation initiatives across the sector. 


About you  

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a clinical, public health, management, or other relevant discipline; or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.

  • Significant experience working in public health, management, communications, education, or similar roles. 

  • Significant knowledge and understanding of policies, legislation and guidelines impacting on public health, AOD service delivery, harm reduction and minimisation, clinical quality and safety, or related areas.
