About the role

You will play a pivotal role in shaping how we assess, measure and prioritise the health service needs of the NSW population, ensuring our future health system is designed around meeting the health needs of the community we serve and provision of equitable and sustainable health care. Drawing on rich data and analytics, you will be part of a team that informs the development of NSW Health’s first statewide clinical services plan. You will translate complex insights into clear, influential advice that guides long term service planning and investment decisions. By collaborating with Local Health Districts (Districts), Specialty Health Networks (Networks) and key stakeholders, you will help align and inform statewide service delivery priorities. Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing

  • Using, developing and enhancing data analytics tools and models, including the generation of current and forecast activity insights, to inform statewide service planning and shape clinical service plans.
  • Analysing system changes, policies and practices to determine their impact on service utilisation and future service planning.
  • Providing clear, evidence based service planning and policy advice to support service planning and investment decisions across Districts, Networks and the Ministry.
  • Engaging and collaborating with key staff across NSW Health and external stakeholders to stay across service planning issues, strengthen relationships and support effective engagement.


About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation impacting health service planning and investment.
  • Demonstrated, highly-developed conceptual and analytical thinking skills, with experience analysing and using health data to inform service planning and policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and strategy into clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • A growth mindset, with commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
