About the role

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how NSW Government health and medical research initiatives are understood and valued across the sector and broader community. You will lead the development of strategic, high-quality communications that translate complex research and policy into clear, compelling narratives for researchers, industry and key stakeholders. Through digital channels and targeted engagement, you will elevate the visibility and impact of government-funded research. The role works collaboratively across government to champion initiatives that strengthen innovation and improve health outcomes for the people of NSW.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards. Please note that this is an 11‑month opportunity for parental leave cover.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic communications that support health and medical research initiatives, funding priorities and government objectives.
  • Oversee and optimise communication channels and content — including digital platforms, social media and publications — ensuring alignment with NSW Health and NSW Government policies and standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate and communicate research outcomes and impact, driving continuous improvement and informing future reporting and engagement strategies.
  • Build and manage strong stakeholder and supplier relationships, fostering a coordinated, whole-of-government approach and identifying opportunities to enhance communication practices, accessibility and effectiveness.


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Demonstrated experience working within the NSW Government sector, with proven capability in leading and managing content across digital communication channels, ensuring strategic impact and audience engagement
  • Proven ability to project manage the end-to-end development of high-quality communication collateral, from planning to delivery.
  • A strong track record in evaluating and reporting on communication campaigns and initiatives, including clearly communicating outcomes and effectiveness to stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive, equivalent professional experience demonstrating capability at a senior level.
