Role Title: Principal Media and Communications (REQ569536)

About this role

The Principal Media and Communications leads the development, implementation and evaluation of communication strategies, events and activities on behalf of the HPCA and NSW health professional Councils. The role leads a team and ensures that the team works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the Councils to achieve communication outcomes which includes responding to emerging trends affecting registered health practitioners. The role also lead responses to media enquiries about the management of registered health practitioners by the Councils. 

This role will also work closely with the HPCA Executive to deliver an integrated communications approach across channels and platforms and works in delivery of organisational wide projects to deliver timely, accurate and informed communication and change activities.


Clerk Grade 11/12, salary from $145,378 to $168,130 plus Super and annual leave loading

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in media and both internal and external communications. Experience supervising a small team is a must. This is a hands-on role, so you’ll need to be highly organised, able to write at pace, and adept at influencing senior stakeholders.

The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an executive agency of the NSW Ministry of Health.  We play an important role in protecting the health and safety of the public by supporting the 15 NSW Health Professional Councils in managing complaints about NSW health practitioners.

The position is based at the HPCA Pitt Street offices, located only a short walking distance from Central Station and Belmore Park.
