What you'll be doing
Lead the delivery of high-quality, efficient case management for practitioners who are the subject of complaints, with a strong focus on public safety, timely decision-making and continuous improvement. This role oversees complex and cross-program matters, drives improvements in case management processes, and works closely with Councils, Committees, legal teams and operational leaders to support the timely implementation of regulatory decisions. You will monitor emerging regulatory trends, lead initiatives including a ‘fitness-to-practise’ approach and the transition of immediate action matters into case management, and oversee workforce resourcing, capability and cross-skilling to support business continuity. The role also promotes strong information management practices to ensure Council information remains accurate, accessible and appropriately managed.
Essential Requirements
- Proven capacity to independently exercise authority, make appropriate decisions and manage complex programs at a senior level, preferably in a regulatory or other professional environment
- High level conceptual, problem-solving, planning, and policy development skills plus the capacity to identify and manage emerging and contentious issues to resolution
- Ability to provide sound advice and make recommendations in relation to emerging issues concerning the regulation of health practitioners
How to Apply
All applicants must review the role description and apply by submitting an up-to-date resume (up to 5 pages) and responses to 2 targeted questions (1-2 pages).
If you do not include responses to the below questions your application will not be considered.
Target Questions
This role is responsible for leading teams through changes to systems, processes and ways of working while maintaining service delivery outcomes. How would you lead a team through a significant operational, technology or process change, which also required a change in team culture and accountability?
How would you support the team through the transition, manage differing levels of engagement, and ensure business outcomes continued to be achieved? What strategies did you use to maintain momentum and ensure the change became embedded over time rather than reverting to previous practices?
A new digital platform is being implemented that will change the way Council members access information and undertake aspects of their role. At the same time, there is a need to implement new ways of working to improve efficiency, consistency and end-to-end management of matters.
As the Principal Case Management Officer, how would you engage Council members to support both initiatives, maintain their confidence and participation, and ensure the operational objectives are achieved while they are also adapting to the changes required of them?
