About the Role
In this role, you will deliver safe, efficient, and effective nursing care in alignment with contemporary professional standards and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. You will be responsible for providing high quality, patient centred care that supports optimal health outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement.
You will play an active role in mentoring and supporting Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses, contributing to their clinical education, professional development, and successful integration within the team. By fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, you will encourage open communication, teamwork, and effective problem solving across the ward or unit.
The position requires a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and participation in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that care delivery remains current, innovative, and responsive to patient needs. You will be involved in healthcare planning, implementation, and evaluation, working closely with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimise care.
Practicing in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards, NSW Health Code of Conduct, and CORE values, you will actively contribute to a culture of patient safety, clinical quality, and innovation. Your role will support ongoing improvement initiatives and promote best-practice approaches that enhance patient outcomes and overall service delivery.
About You
We are looking for Registered Nurses skilled in Anaesthetics, Scrub/Scout & PARU as detailed below.
An Anaesthetic Nurse with strong clinical assessment skills, excellent knowledge of anaesthetic procedures, and a calm, detail‑focused approach to patient safety. Highly effective in fast‑paced environments, they communicate clearly with the perioperative team, think critically under pressure, work both independently and collaboratively, and bring a compassionate, patient‑centred mindset with a commitment to ongoing learning."
A Scrub/Scout Nurse who brings strong surgical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent instrument‑handling skills to support safe and efficient theatre workflows. Calm and organised under pressure, they anticipate surgical needs, maintain sterile technique, communicate clearly with the perioperative team, and work collaboratively to ensure seamless patient care. They combine critical thinking, adaptability, and a patient‑centred approach with a commitment to ongoing learning and clinical excellence."
A PARU Nurse who delivers attentive, patient‑centred post‑anaesthetic care with strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to rapidly recognise and respond to deterioration. Skilled in airway management, pain control, and monitoring complex postoperative patients, they stay calm and focused in dynamic environments. They communicate clearly with the perioperative and ward teams, prioritise safety, maintain excellent attention to detail, and bring a compassionate, reassuring presence to support patients through recovery.
