What you'll be doing
The Child and Family Health Nurse/ Midwife is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, providing nursing care to families/carers of the health service.
The role utilises evidence-based knowledge and skills to monitor the growth, development and health of the child (0 to 5 years of age) within the context of the family, and to provide a co-ordinated family centred approach, advice, health information, first line counselling (where appropriate) and referral to relevant support services.
About You
You are a dedicated Child and Family Health Nurse with current registration with the Nurses & Midwives Board of Australia, supported by a postgraduate qualification in child and family health nursing. You bring a strong commitment to evidence‑based, family‑centred care for children aged 0–5 years in the community setting.

Your clinical practice reflects well‑developed assessment, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills, enabling you to respond effectively to a wide range of clinical concerns. You work with a safe, supportive and family‑centred mindset, ensuring that each child’s developmental, physical and emotional needs are understood and addressed.
You communicate with clarity and professionalism, using information technology and strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills to support effective clinical documentation, collaboration and family engagement.
You thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment, where you plan and coordinate care that is outcome‑focused and responsive to the needs of children and their families. You understand the complexities faced by clients with multifaceted needs in the community, and you approach these situations with sound judgement, compassion and a solutions‑focused mindset.
You are confident in identifying and responding to safety concerns for infants and children, including situations where a child may be at risk of significant harm (ROSH). Your practice reflects vigilance, responsibility and adherence to mandatory reporting requirements.
With a current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence, you are well‑equipped to provide flexible, community‑based care across diverse settings
