What you'll be doing
The position ensures the provision of appropriate, well planned and coordinated services to women and their families that reflects current standards of Midwifery practice and Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) policies and procedures.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).
New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation history statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

- Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
- Relevant management experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Midwifery Continuity Models of Care
- Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for the MGP and MAPS services
- Ability to act as a primary interface between the NUM2 of the Maternity Service and staff of the MGP and MAPS to support open two-way communication
- Demonstrated clinical leadership to ensure a high standard of Midwifery Care within the MGP and MAPS that reflects the use of evidence informed best practice outcomes in accordance with the legal and ethical requirements of AHPRA, NSW Nurses & Midwives Act and policies, procedures and guidelines of MNCLHD and the Australian College of Midwives
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the MGP and MAPS are managed to deliver safe and efficient woman centred care within the multidisciplinary team and available resources
- Current NSW drivers licence
