The Opportunity
Join a dedicated and supportive team delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a dynamic Rehabilitation Unit. This is an excellent opportunity to build your clinical expertise while making a meaningful impact on patient recovery, independence, and quality of life.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide care to patients requiring reconditioning, post-acute recovery and functional rehabilitation. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement tailored care plans that support optimal outcomes.
In this role you will:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care
- Conduct clinical and functional assessments and monitor patient progress
- Administer medications, provide wound care, and support patient mobilisation
- Implement falls prevention strategies and contribute to discharge planning
- Educate patients and carers to support recovery and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Supervise and delegate to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and students
- Contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment
Skills and Experience
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate nurse who thrives in a team environment and is committed to delivering high-quality care.
Essential:
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Demonstrated clinical competence in acute or rehabilitation settings
- Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster
Desirable (or willingness to work towards):
- Postgraduate study in Rehabilitation, Gerontology or related field
- Experience in rehabilitation, aged care or sub-acute care
- Knowledge of falls prevention, mobility programs and discharge planning
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with electronic medical records (eMR)
- Involvement in quality improvement or practice development
You will bring strong communication skills, critical thinking ability, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Whether experienced in rehabilitation or looking to grow in this specialty, you’ll be supported to develop your skills and leadership capabilities.
