About the Opportunity
Griffith Base Hospital, part of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Specialist in General Medicine to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Staff Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based medical services while contributing to the education and supervision of junior medical staff. You will be instrumental in shaping clinical practices, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting the hospital’s commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

About You:
You are a passionate and skilled physician with:
- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in General Medicine (or eligibility via an overseas trained specialist pathway).
- Recent clinical experience in General Medicine, ideally within a comparable service setting.
- A strong commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary care and the ability to lead and inspire a clinical team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in using clinical information systems.
- A dedication to teaching, research, and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering safe, high-quality care.
- Availability to participate in the on-call roster and respond on-site as required.
- Alignment with the NSW Health CORE values—Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment—and a commitment to the goals and strategies of MLHD.

- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
