Where you'll be working

SESLHD’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Service (SHBBV) provide leadership, innovation, and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services. 

The Sexual Health Infolink (SHIL) is a statewide service operated by SESLHD Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services which provides health information and support to both health professionals and the public.


The Role

This position will work with the Digital Health, IT manager on the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Sexual Health Infolink database system (SHILD) and various systems for statewide jobs such as the MyCheck, the Dried Blood Spot (DBS). The position will provide system support and staff training as requested.

Selection Criteria

  1. Proven ability to develop information systems using various development/programming tools, including C#, ASP.Net, Entity Framework, HTML, JavaScript and Web Services in a predetermined timeframe. Desirable experience in using HL7 messaging technologies and AWS clouding environment.
  2. Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database administration and design, including writing functions, views and stored procedures.
  3. Proven experience in information system development life cycle, including system architect, design, development, test, delivery & maintenance, preferably in a Healthcare environment.
  4. Demonstrated experience in system analysis and problem-solving skills, including experience in identifying and rectifying system faults within a minimum timeframe.
  5. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills appropriate to an environment of change and evolution.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  7. Information Technology degree/tertiary qualifications as applicable to the position or relevant work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
