Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

This is a great opportunity for a Speech Pathologist. The Speech Pathologist will contribute to the provision of quality Speech Pathology clinical services to assigned clinical caseload and the development of Speech Pathology clinical services within assigned clinical area. The successful candidate will supervise speech pathology students as required and Level 2 Speech Pathologists may be asked to supervise Level 1 Speech Pathologists as per business needs.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Degree or diploma in Speech Pathology or equivalent recognised by Speech Pathology Australia and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in a chronic illness, oncology or palliative care setting
  3. Excellent spoken, written and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in the application of these skills in a team environment.
  4. Knowledge of and commitment to evidence based practice and demonstrated application of how evidence based practice has been incorporated into your professional work.
  5. Evidence of commitment to professional development and training
  6. Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively in clinical practice
  7. Valid NSW Drivers Licence
