The Bureau of Health Information (BHI) is a board-governed organisation that provides independent reports on the performance of the NSW public healthcare system. BHI’s primary purpose is to provide timely, accurate and comparable information on the performance of the NSW public healthcare system in ways that enhance the system’s accountability and informs efforts to improve healthcare. What you'll be doing – Senior Project Officer, Surveys


The Senior Project Officer has a major role in the day-to-day management of the NSW Patient Survey Program and facilitating the development and review of surveys (methodology and questionnaire design). This is an essential position in the continual development of a major program that surveys more than a quarter of a million recent patients annually.

The Senior Project Officer - Surveys reports to the Lead Researcher - Surveys and does not have any reports.

Employment Type: Full Time Exempt (Up to November 2025)
Position Classification: Health Manager Level 3
Remuneration: $122,850,00 - $139,559.00 per annum, plus superannuation

 Selection Criteria

  1. Extensive experience in the management of projects and contracts, including planning, prioritising, problem solving, resource management and conflict resolution.
  2. Experience in the development of surveys, including review of literature and seeking input from as well as supporting advisory committees groups. Experience in running focus groups, cognitive testing interviews and the collection and use of patient-reported measures is desirable.
  3. Experience in compiling and prioritising information from multiple sources to inform survey development.
  4. Experience engaging with stakeholders, including a commitment to clear communication, customer service, the ability to positively influence others and negotiating agreeable outcomes, and supporting the optimal use of results among diverse stakeholders.
  5. Ability to understand and summarise statistical information produced for a range of audiences, including interpretation of information from large survey data sets and from administrative data.
  6. Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, show resilience and courage, communicate clearly and engage effectively in a small collaborative team environment, including experience supporting and developing others.
  7. Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or equivalent relevant extensive experience.
