NSW Health has been on a transformational journey to modernise and streamline its technology systems. The NSW Ministry of Health has a role of ‘system manager’ to the NSW public health system. With more than 228 hospitals across New South Wales, systems, frameworks, policies and procedures are required to manage patient flow, care coordination and other key health system manager functions. This has required an enabling platform called the State Operational Data Store (ODS) and its associated applications to be developed using data from numerous sources which are curated and consolidated in real time and used by over 40,000 staff.
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for managing and ensuring resources are utilised appropriately for the development of key enterprise solutions that support NSW Health's strategic vision and priorities using the State ODS.
Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.
What you will do
The Senior Project Officer will also be responsible for:
- Preparing, authoring, editing, managing and reviewing the provision of high-level communications and correspondence for approval including ministerial correspondence, Briefs, Policies, reports, submissions and notes to ensure the comprehensiveness, accuracy and timeliness of written information.
- Working with the ODS Program Management Team to manage all Program and Executive level reporting including reporting and managing risks and issues via tools such as Azure DevOps or SharePoint.
- Monitoring financial reports and general ledger transactions specific to the Program to report on financial risks and issues including any impacts to the actuals vs forecast.
- Monitoring and reporting on the delivery of urgent and high priority tasks that require attention from the ODS Program Management Team and ensuring everything is appropriately prioritised to meet deadlines.
- Provide efficient, effective and compliant administrative and executive support directly to the Director, to ensure the Program meets its responsibilities regarding governance, risk, communications and overseeing the implementation of decisions made by the Director across the Team.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Experience (> 2 years) in NSW Health protocols and procedures and in preparing, authoring, editing, managing and reviewing the provision of high-level communications and correspondence including Ministerial correspondence, Briefs and Policies specific to health care.
- Experience (> 5 years) working in Government equivalent positions with respect to executive support functions and project management with a focus on the emergency, hospital and the community care setting.
- Experience (> 5 years) and proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including and not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, Teams and documentation software such as Confluence.
- Experience (> 5 year) with all aspects of executive level support functions including demonstrated understanding and ability to manage program governance, risk, communications, financial management and reporting, human resource management, recruitment and benefits realisation.
- Experience (> 5 years) working in large, complex multi-disciplinary organisation with different stakeholders to engage with a focus on the emergency, hospital and the community care setting.
