The Role

The Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (the Network) is committed to building a professional workforce that supports consumers in their recovery journey. The Peer Workforce is seen as vital in the support and guidance they positively offer to consumers and the mental health service, through the significant gains made in their own recovery. A primary goal is to work collaboratively and positively with consumers and staff to facilitate effective participation in individual treatment and recovery within a secure mental health setting.

The Senior Peer Worker carries an additional remit of workforce development, systems advocacy and representation. Further, this position will develop and foster relationships with external providers that create opportunities to improve consumer outcomes and increase community mental health literacy.
