This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the role:

Are you an experienced Orthopaedic Physiotherapist looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive and dynamic team? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our multidisciplinary team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.


In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical services, including managing complex cases requiring advanced clinical reasoning. Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is a leading healthcare facility in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed hospital includes:


  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Brain Injury Unit
  • Diabetes Centre
  • High Dependency Unit

  • Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

  • *Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. All payments made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.   • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.   • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

  • To be appointed to level 3 you will need to demonstrate 3 years post-graduate clinical experience. Early Career Physiotherapists are encouraged to apply!
