Where you'll be working
SESLHD’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Service (SHBBV) provide leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services.
The Role
Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within homelessness, drug and alcohol and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island communities in order to provide high quality counselling and case management care to clients of the Kirketon Road Centre counselling unit consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award in Social Work (eligible for member of AASW) or Counselling, OR Qualifications in accordance with Health & Community Employees Psychologists (State Award 2022) with current AHPRA registration and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in drug and alcohol, mental health or homeless health.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels and promote a cohesive team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide support to other staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
