Shoalhaven Hospital is looking for a Refrigeration Mechanic to work within the Maintenance Team, The role includes being part of a rotating on-call roster. In addition to the listed benefits of working in NSW Health there are many training opportunities including trade related.
What you'll be doing
This encompasses working with a small team of Trade staff, liaising with other staff, to support the delivery of ethical and cost effective Air Conditioning & Refrigeration services in a timely manner, across the district. You may be required to work at other hospitals, Community Centres and other facilities across the network.
Reporting to Maintenance Manager and Leading Hand.
This position may also require the incumbent to be available & willing to partake in the on-call system to provide 24 hour breakdown cover and overtime when/if required.

Selection Criteria
- A trade qualification in HVAC/refrigeration with knowledge and understanding of the application of relevant Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision while following safe work practices.
- Proven skills in fault finding and problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans.
- Demonstrated HVAC and refrigeration experience in the maintenance of large building complexes and facility maintenance, and proven ability to work and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of trade, nontrade, and contractors to efficiently deliver maintenance services in a busy work environment.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the use of computerised building management control systems to monitor, control, fault find and adjust systems and associated controllers.
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and personally with key stakeholders in the workplace
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and work order systems.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position
