Where you'll be working
This position will be based at the SESLHD Bondi Junction Mental Health Centre.
What you'll be doing
The CogScreen trial aims to compare cognitive screening tools in young people with first episode psychosis. The Research Assistant, Psychologist role will support trial recruitment and conduct cognitive assessments. In the role you will:
• Assist the Trial Manager with participant recruitment
• Administer cognitive screening tests (SCIP and MoCA)
• Support comprehensive neuropsychological assessments
• Contribute to a multi-site, cross-sectional research study
The CogScreen Project will produce outcomes that will support clinicians by improving the quality of care of patients with first-episode psychosis and enabling an efficient method of identifying cognitive impairments. This will improve treatment, and as a result, patient outcomes.
The role is initially for 12 months however there is potential for extension.

Selection Criteria:
- Recognised 4 year degree in Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Demonstrated ability to apply research methodologies and quantitative/qualitative data analysis, including working with databases.
- Experience in conducting psychological interviews, including standardised measures, such as the Standard Clinicians’ Interview in Psychiatry (SCIP).
- Experience administering and scoring cognitive tests, such as the Weschler scales.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective research collaboration and engagement.
- Demonstrated well-developed organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Current drivers license and a willingness to travel in accordance with the role.
- High level of proficiency in the use of standard application software such as the Microsoft Office suite.
