What you'll be doing

This position is responsible for the implementation of the NSW Health LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy and NSLHD Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy. 

The project has the following key foci:

  • Education, Elevating Capability and Confidence
  • Data Collection
  • Access to Expertise & Elevating Capability
  • Access to Services & System Responsiveness
  • Establishing and fostering partnerships with stakeholders across the LHD and external organisations.

This position will report to the Chief Executive, being supported by an implementation taskforce as appointed by the Chief Executive.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience in project planning, implementation, and evaluation, with relevant education or demonstrated equivalent experience; or a combination of work and study.
  2. Demonstrated effective stakeholder management skills in a complex multi-level environment, including advanced relationship building and partnering skills to establish rapport, trust, and credibility with colleagues at all levels, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, and/or queer identifying communities, and community organisations.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of government policies and contemporary issues pertaining to the NSW LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy, and the Health disparities experienced by LGBTIQ+ people.
  4. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead education sessions, collaborative workshops and/or focus groups.
