What you'll be doing

This is a part time permanent senior clinician position at Shellharbour Hospital. We are looking for someone with experience in a variety of clinical areas, primarily surgical, medical and aged care physio to bring their clinical knowledge and leadership to this small team of physios. They will be supported and developed by the Level 4 Team Lead and Acute Unit Head Physiotherapists and will provide support and education to new grad and level 1-2 physiotherapists.

This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed. Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Current Physiotherapy Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in the clinical specialty area.
  3. Well-developed time management skills, high levels of oral and written communication skills including the proficient use of health based technology.
  4. Demonstrated commitment and evidence of implementation of ISLHD core values.
  5. Knowledge and proven ability to undertake quality improvement and service evaluation processes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Ability to participate in staff and student supervision.
  8. Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
