What you'll be doing
The Pain Coordinator role comprises several key components:
- Client care coordination and management;
- Support and referral to the St Vincents clinic outreach model and other pain services,
- Facilitation of education and support to clinicians in SNSWLHD.
- Facilitation of persistent pain, multidisciplinary persistent pain groups.
Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist) or eligibility for membership with the peak professional association (Exercise Physiologist, Social Workers, Dietitian, Speech Pathologist).
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in the management of people with persistent pain. Experience within a rural or regional setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical consultancy across the SNSWLHD in order to support clients and clinicians.
- Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Demonstrated leadership to utilise problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of client care.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team, effectively prioritising and organising own work / caseload across a disperse regional area.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
