About Us:
The John Hunter Children’s Hospital Paediatric Sleep Lab is the only public Paediatric Sleep Lab between Sydney and Brisbane, serving children across the Hunter Region and beyond. We specialise in the accurate and timely diagnosis of sleep disorders in children, offering both diagnostic and treatment sleep studies, including Positive Airway Pressure and Oxygen titrations.
About the role:
This role requires someone who can interact with children and their families in a professional, confident, and age-appropriate manner. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of an integrated team. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer knowledge, are essential.
The role will see you performing routine diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies while analysing and reporting on these studies. The team is looking for someone with an appropriate hospital science degree to work as a sleep scientist in our lab which operates from Monday-Friday inclusive, with an occasional Saturday morning. You would be required to be flexible with your working hours and willing/able to work a variety of shifts, though predominately night shifts. In addition, there are requirements to fill in for staff shortages where needed.
Requirements:
Obtained a degree in science (which includes relevant biomedical subjects) from an approved university
