What you'll be doing
Overall responsibilities include the preparation of operating theatre equipment, transport of patients, specimens and equipment, assisting with the transfer, positioning, prepping and / or restraining of patients, cleaning of floors and furniture, removal of soiled linen and waste, unboxing and restocking supplies and maintaining safe and hygienic conditions within the operating suite

This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS.

  1. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary health care team
  2. Demonstrated flexibility to take directions from several areas within the theatres and meeting demands with minimal supervision
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital cleaning requirements relating to infection control policies
  4. An understanding and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
  5. A commitment to ongoing self-development
  6. Participation in a 7 day rotating roster
