About the role

This is an exciting new position providing high level of clinical leadership within the specialty area of the Mental Health Emergency Care Service (MHEC) to improve access to care and addressing gaps in existing health care services through the provision of a flexible and innovative model of care.

Providing high levels of clinical leadership within the specialty area of the Mental Health Emergency Care Service (MHEC) to improve access to care and addressing gaps in existing health care services through the provision of a flexible and innovative model of care. Working in an advanced and extended clinical role defined by the scope of practice. Providing clinical and professional leadership as an expert in the clinical field and undertaking comprehensive health assessments as well as collaborating and consulting with other members of the health care team to plan, implement and evaluate care. This integrated approach will support best practice and maximise patient care outcomes. 

The Transitional Nurse Practitioner is appointed for a provisional period of up to three (3) years until the applicant meets the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) requirements for nurse practitioner endorsement.
