 Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.  The position will be located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Medical Imaging, as well as at Blue Mountains Anzac Memorial District Hospital.

Successful applicants will be expected to perform clinical duties including routine reporting of plain films, performance of fluoroscopic examinations, supervision of sonographic, computed tomography.  MRI reporting will be available to those participating in the FRANZCR accreditation program. Interventional Radiology (Tier A) skills would be advantageous.

 Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 6 months, may be considered. If successful, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.

 Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

  1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Radiology or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  3. Sound clinical knowledge in Radiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
  4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
  6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behavior to junior medical staff.

 

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014 

 

Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
