About the role
To provide evidence-based drug and alcohol assessment, case management and counselling services to clients accessing the MERIT and Drug Court programs. 

The Clinician will be part of the MNCLHD Alcohol and other Drugs Service team.

About you
  • Membership of the relevant association or registered with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Registered Nurse. Psychologist (registered or able to obtain registration in NSW) or Social Worker (eligible for membership of the AASW) or Counsellor (bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer).
  • Demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge in assessment, case management and counselling within a drug and alcohol service and knowledge of harm reduction.

  1. Membership of the relevant association or registered with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Registered Nurse.   2. Demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge in assessment, case management and counselling within a drug and alcohol service and knowledge of harm reduction.
  3. An ability to liaise with a range of relevant agencies and departments of the Local Health District, Non-Government agencies and Criminal Justice System
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team in providing improving patient care and outcomes and to accomplish service goals.
  5. Proven high quality computer literacy, written and verbal communication. This includes the preparation of high quality written and oral reports and experience with documenting in patient based electronic record systems and other computer-based applications.
  6. Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from Indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds
  7. Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
