About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated experienced individual in Haematology - Morphology to provide and coordinate morphology training across Nepean and Westmead laboratories, and their associated regional supervision footprints as required.
This position will be work routinely at both Nepean and Westmead laboratories and required to travel to regional laboratories to provide training as required.

What you'll be doing
The incumbent will be an integral part of the Haematology- Morphology teams and be responsible for coordinating the training, assessments, and competencies of Scientific and Technical staff within NSWHP – Nepean and Westmead laboratories, and their associated regional supervision footprints. The incumbent will travel across sites and carry out Haematology staff training with a focus on Morphology, performance development and competency assessments. The trainer will facilitate continuing professional development for other staff within Haematology/Morphology. Trainers will be required to assist in routine laboratory work to understand workflow and maintain their knowledge and skills

- Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures.
- Evidence of expertise knowledge and technical experience in Haematology - Morphology with experience in training, competency and method review..
- Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems including supervision of e-based Quality Management Systems
- Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety and privacy requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards and quality systems
- Current unencumbered NSW Class C Drivers Licence, and willingness to work across all sites within the West, Rural and Regional footprint as required
