Where you'll be working:
Join the Hunter Drug and Alcohol Counselling Team at James Fletcher Hospital Campus, Newcastle. This role offers the opportunity to provide face-to-face care to clients across the Newcastle area while being part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team in a dynamic healthcare setting.
About the role:
As a member of our counselling team, you will:
- Conduct client assessments and implement care and management plans to ensure optimal outcomes within prescribed timeframes.
- Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to make individual case decisions based on best practice.
- Prioritize tasks effectively as competing demands arise throughout the day or week.
- Be supported by your Line Manager, Clinical Lead, and fellow team professionals, with access to the Drug & Alcohol Allied Health Lead as needed.
- Participate in monthly Clinical Supervision and ongoing professional development and learning through internal DACS training.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Counselling, or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional association and full AHPRA registration (where applicable).
- A valid NSW driver’s licence and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes, which may include long-distance driving.
