Registered Nurse - $36.38 - $51.08 per hour

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.
What you’ll be doing:
Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to each individual’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey.
An exciting Health Clinician role (Occupational Therapist Level 1/2, Social Worker Level 1/2, Counsellor Level 1/2 and Registered Nurse) has become available at Lithgow Community Health Centre on a Temporary Part time basis.
The successful candidate will provide Case Management and Counselling to MERIT and Drug Court clients within the Forensic Drug and Alcohol Service of the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD Drug and Alcohol Service.
This role will see you will undertake Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment Planning for clients referred to the MERIT and Adult Drug Court Programs, whilst providing evidence-based counselling interventions and case management to clients of the Adult Drug Court and MERIT programs and provide detailed court reports, individual progress reports, case assessments and other relevant documentation as required.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.
Criteria:
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Degree or post graduate degree and professional registration/membership in the following: Occupational Therapy (Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia), Social Work (Eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers AASW; Counsellor (Eligibility for full membership of the Australian Counselling Association ACA; Registered Nurse (APHRA registration)
2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability within a clinical setting.
