The Tamworth North West Cancer Centre is a comprehensive service that includes Medical Oncology, Haematology and Radiation Oncology. The Centre supports a diverse professional team with a wealth of expertise, experience and has a strong focus on patient centred care. The service also provides an extensive infusion suite that caters for the administration of complex chemotherapy protocols as well as supportive therapies for patients.
The NWCC has an extensive team of care coordination positions including McGrath Breast Cancer Nurses, Prostate Cancer Foundation CNC, Mark Hughes Foundation Brain Cancer CNC, Breast Cancer CNC and Generalist Cancer Care CNC's that work collaboratively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team, to provide expert patient centred care and will also support the successful applicant in this new position.

About the role:
The role of the McGrath Breast Care Nurse (MBCN) - CNC Grade 2 is to provide specialist nursing care, information, education and support to patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated practitioner who will utilise expert skills, knowledge and experience to work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team according to the complexity of care required and the individual need of the patients in their care.
The workload will be mainly self-generated, this will be achieved through extensive interdisciplinary collaboration across primary, secondary and tertiary health. You will be a clinical expert in breast cancer and function as a resource person to patients, carers, families, clinical services, and community agencies.
The patient-centred, holistic nursing care provided by the McGrath BCN is consistent with the approach underpinned by the McGrath Model of Care.
The successful applicant will be supported by the McGrath foundation, the McGrath Early Breast Care Nurse, the McGrath Metastatic BCN and the Breast Cancer CNC as well as all members of the NWCC's extensive multidisciplinary team.

About you:
- Qualifications in Cancer nursing - Breast Care qualification or working towards are highly regarded.
- The ideal candidate should be an experienced oncology or breast cancer nurse that has the ability to work in a shared role to provide best supportive care to the patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
- You should be caring, open and honest, and have a high level of awareness in applying advanced knowledge of health needs, preferences and circumstances of patients with breast cancer to optimise outcomes across the continuum.
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely with in a diverse care team is essential.
