What you'll be doing
The Senior Social Worker will provide expert clinical leadership and supervision of the Social Work services within the Northern Beaches Child and Youth Mental Health Service (NB CYMHS). The position will also carry a clinical load and will be responsible for providing evidence-informed mental health assessment and therapeutic intervention to children and young people, their families and carers. The Senior Social Worker will be required to exercise independent clinical judgement, initiative, and problem-solving skills to provide senior clinical support to the multi-disciplinary clinicians, including Social Workers, within the CYMHS team and to other relevant stakeholders. The Senior Social Worker may be required to act up into the Clinical Lead position during absences where indicated and delegated by the Service Manager or Service Director. The Senior Social Worker will be expected to be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation, and staff and student teaching/supervision.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with AASW. Allied Health Professional requires experience as a level 2 clinician.
- Demonstrated comprehensive training/qualifications and skills in assessment, formulation and providing treatment for children and adolescents affected by mental health problems, their families/carers and broader system of care through evidence-based individual, group and parent-focused therapies such as CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies and family therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the teaching and learning capacity of the team including student and staff supervision and training, and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership, service coordination and support to a multi-disciplinary team.
