Clinical Stream Lead – Intensive Care Medicine

Fixed term temporary part time [0.2 FTE for 3 years]

The Clinical Stream Lead in Intensive Care Medicine will have a vital role in engaging clinicians across HNELHD. The Stream Leader provides leadership in policy, planning, and service development for Intensive Care services across HNE Health. 

The Clinical Stream Lead will work in partnership with the Stream Coordinator, Network Manager and the Executive Sponsor to ensure that the Intensive Care Stream key strategies are implemented and sustained. 

Key accountabilities:
  • Publicising the work of the stream, and raising the profile and focus of the stream with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain key collaborative relationships across the district to achieve strategic goals and KPI’s
  • Facilitation of the strategic direction for the stream through workforce development, strategic planning, development of business cases and briefs, scanning new policies, research and models of care, translating the impact of these into practical implications for different members of the stream, and for the stream as a whole

Essential criteria:
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine
  • Currently holds a position within Intensive Care Medicine Services in HNELHD or Calvary Mater Newcastle Hosptial
  • Ability to provide clinical leadership
  • Demonstrates an ability to work as a multidisciplinary team member
