What you'll be doing
 
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you'll be responsible for:
  • supervising staff screening, immunisation, and exposure management, including fit testing across the LHD;
  • oversee VaxLink data, recruitment screenings, and vaccination programs;
  • providing occupational exposure management, NRT counselling, cytotoxic monitoring, and phone support;
  • advising managers on infectious disease risks, deliver staff education, and update policies and procedures.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, with current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to utilise as required for the position; and an Authorised Nurse Immuniser as recognised by NSW Health.
  2. Relevant Post graduate qualifications in Infection Control, OHS or Staff Health and at least 3 years recent experience working in the staff health clinical area; As well as a understanding of PD2024_015 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans.
  4. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  5. Demonstrated skills in the development & facilitation of patients and staff as required.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
  7. Detailed knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation and evidence of leadership in safety and quality innovation.
  8. Demonstrated computer skills and competence in the use of health-related information technology.
