Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service, office located at Macquarie Hospital, North Ryde; and Mona Vale Hospital.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) has a leadership role in guiding hospital staff in the understanding of Ministry of Health (MoH) policy and implementing risk management strategies to protect patients, healthcare workers, affiliated clients and carers from acquiring healthcare associated or occupational infections.
The CNC is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and encourages professional development.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with 5 years post registration experience and at least 3 years in the specialty of Infection Prevention and Control. In addition, the applicant must have an approved Post Graduate qualification relevant to the field of practice, or significant evidence of working towards Masters level qualification. Current NSW Driver’s license also required.
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal skills, ability to implement change, develop direction in clinical practice, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems including data management software, and experience in the Development of policies, procedures and speciality education programs.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management, cultural change processes.
