We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Midwifery Educator to join our team. This role involves a blend of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities focused on providing high-quality education to student midwives, medical students, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership, mentorship, and clinical support while maintaining high standards of practice in both the education and clinical settings.

Daily responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide education and mentorship to student midwives, medical students, and healthcare staff
  • Step in to provide clinical care when short-staffed, maintaining quality patient care
  • Develop, assess, and evaluate education programs to align with strategic objectives
  • Coordinate education for new and transitioning midwives, offering ongoing supervision
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to address clinical and operational needs

About our service: 
Manning Maternity Services offers comprehensive, woman-centred care to mothers and babies from 34 weeks of gestation, focusing on those with low to moderate risk factors, as well as post-caesarean section care. The Maternity Unit is equipped with three birthing rooms, each with an ensuite, an assessment room, and a spacious bath designed for use during labor. Additionally, the unit provides 13 beds for the care of antenatal and postnatal mothers and their babies.


Requirements: 
  • Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
  • Hold relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or clinical/education experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
