An exciting permanent opportunity exists for an experienced mental health clinician and leader to work in the role of Clinical Manager for the Sutherland Acute Care Team (ACT). Supported by the Community Service Manager, the Clinical Manager will lead the ACT and Police and Ambulance Clinical Emergency Response (PACER) team to provide short-term mental health interventions to people experiencing acute episodes of mental health distress or illness.
The Clinical Manager will provide leadership, guidance, supervision and line management of the multidisciplinary community mental health team. The role requires a high degree of both clinical and professional judgement to navigate critical challenges with minimal direction.
They will provide high quality evidence based clinical services including assessment, care co-ordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder. These interventions will be based on an appropriate model of practice as specified by the individual’s professional background, skills, and experience and will be informed by evidence based treatment guidelines.

Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the mental health assessment, treatment and management of persons with a mental illness in a community setting
- Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to manage performance and lead change
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of, and commitment to the principles and practices of consumer and family participation within a recovery framework
- Computer literacy skills
- Current NSW Driver’s License
