About the Opportunity 

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is recruiting for a Cardiac Technologist Grade 2 to complement and enhance in a high standard specialized unit, alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. This role is for a casual graduated cardiac sonographer.

You will be working across multiple Cardiac Physiology and Technology areas in a very supportive environment, with plenty of development opportunities.

You will be expected to be able to perform high standard cardiac ultrasound examinations in patients with complex cardiac pathology.




What you'll be doing
  • Improve and maintain the health of the residents of the Bankstown Local Government Area, through the provision of quality, accessible and appropriate acute and chronic health services, which are orientated to improved health outcomes and evidence-based practice.
  • Independently perform and issue preliminary reports for cardiac ultrasounds.
  • Communicate with other hospital staff about results of ultrasound studies
  • Assist with other duties in cardiac diagnostics as needed.
  • Cultivate the development of staff to achieve a learning and teaching organizational culture.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

    1. Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac), Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or recognised equivalent.
    2. Registered with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry as fully trained sonographer.
    3. Demonstrated ability to provide cardiac sonography services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner while at the same time maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion at all times.
    4. Recent experience in Cardiac Diagnostics
    5. Competency in ECG interpretation and Cardiac Anatomy.
    6. Demonstrated time management, organisational and communication skills.
    7. Computer competency
    8. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team while supporting a harmonious work environment.
