Where you'll be working
Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.
The Role
The Bulbuwil Exercise Physiologist will manage the development of integrated exercise and rehabilitative options for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members with a chronic disease, or at risk of developing chronic disease. This role will look to integrate services for people and their families with chronic conditions across the hospital and primary care system working with existing services in the hospital setting, primary care and Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN), as well as working closely with the Aboriginal community in the region.

Selection Criteria
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, or other qualification deemed equivalent, and eligible for membership and accreditation with Exercise and Sport Science Australia.
- Demonstrated high level skills in the development of exercise prescription for a wide range of novel and complex conditions, including co-morbidities.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills to plan, implement and evaluate service delivery and provide feedback to relevant management and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal communities and the ability to take a respectful partnership approach in negotiating and communicating with a range of stakeholders, including Aboriginal community members and service providers.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with staff of other health and other government and non-government agencies.
- Current Driver's Licence (NSW Class C).
