The Role
We’re currently looking for an Assistant in Nursing to join our team within Mid North Coast Correctional Centre. This position requires the employee to undertake activities for which they have the legal authority and competence to perform (please refer to the Scope of Practice document). The person performing the delegated activity is accountable for his or her own actions and to the Registered Nurse (RN). Supervision means the direction and guidance given by a RN to an Assistant in Nursing (AIN). The supervision may be direct or indirect according to the nature of the work delegated to the AIN.
Our location, team, and service
Aldavilla is a rural locality in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, roughly 10 kilometres west of the town of Kempsey. The locality is bordered on three sides by the Macleay River. Fattorini Creek, a tributary of the Macleay, forms its northern boundary. Aldavilla is surrounded by national parks and just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Macleay Valley Coast.
On-site you will find an enthusiastic team of clinicians led by a passionate Nurse Unit Manager. You will be supported by team of Registered Nurses as well as varied multi-disciplinary teams specialising in Drug & Alcohol services, Public Sexual Health, Mental Health, Aboriginal Chronic Care and others. There is free parking on-site, access to an on-site gym, flexibility in your roster arrangement (choose your FTE) and the opportunity to access genuine career progression & skill set development opportunities, with several of the existing staff accessing upskilling & promotional opportunities.
