About the role:

We are excited to offer the opportunity for a female Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our close-knit Child & Family Allied Health team, where we are dedicated to delivering culturally safe and compassionate care to children and their families. This role will see you contribute to the delivery of flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health prevention programs and health services for Aboriginal clients, including liaising with relevant community groups, health professionals, and partner organisations to achieve better health outcomes and better access to health services for Aboriginal people.

Tamworth Community Health Service has the benefit of access to many community services, from early childhood nurses to palliative care positions, giving you valuable ongoing, day-to-day support from a whole-of-life team. In addition, we offer a thorough orientation, individual supervision, cultural supervision, access to education and training opportunities and service manager support to ensure you feel connected and confident in learning, developing, and delivering service to children and families in this role. • You have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and local community needs.
• You excel at building trust and engaging with people to deliver important allied health messages in relatable ways.
• You have experience in building and maintaining relationships with a multidisciplinary team to ensure collaborative care is provided for the community.

Requirements:

• This is an identified Aboriginal position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent. Exemption is claimed under section 14d of the anti-discrimination act 1977.
• Hold AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, or willing ness to obtain AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner
• Hold or aspire to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works.
• Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability to travel as required

Additional Information:

• To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
