The Role

We’re currently looking for a Payroll Officer (AO6) who will be responsible for a diverse range of Payroll functions in addition to providing an advisory service to Management and staff regarding a range of Workforce Operations functions including payroll, rostering, general HR, award interpretations and policies and procedures.

The Payroll Officer (AO6) will:

  • Provide advice, guidance and support to managers and staff on a range of payroll and staff scheduling &rostering functions by email, phone and in person.
  • Ensure efficient and effective day to day operations, ensuring JHFMHN staff are correctly remunerated in accordance with Awards, NSW Health Policy and current Legislation.
  • Liaise with HealthShare to resolve pay, salary packaging, superannuation and reimbursement issues.
  • Checking & processing of manual payments, payroll adjustments, and masterfile changes prior to forwarding to HealthShare for payment and updating rosters for adjustments within the HealthRoster system.
  • Managing processes to ensure data integrity within the HRIS and actively participate in quality management projects.
  • Running and checking reports from the Staff Scheduling & Rostering system.
  • Processing of Parental Leave including checking the application and validity of dates, confirmation of eligibility and updating the HRIS with relevant information to ensure accurate payments.
  • Termination process including confirmation of final rosters with managers, removing future rosters from the staff scheduling and rostering system, entering details into the HRIS, reviewing prior service to validate payment and forwarding relevant documentation to HealthShare for processing.
  • Provision of reports and documents and explanation of payments and entitlements to Internal and External Auditors.
