- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Minimum (2) two years postgraduate medical experience at commencement of the post with demonstrated surgical experience appropriate to a doctor in the early part of their surgical career
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in surgery with a view to future training with RACS. This includes intention of sittings primary RACS Examinations
- Evidence of continued professional development appropriate to an early surgical career, commitment to self-directed education and teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates. demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilizing excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Demonstrated effective teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
