Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

The Senior Clinical Dietitian role will include: 

  • Manage a clinical caseload in various designated medical specialty areas
  • Assist the Deputy Head and Department Head of Dietetics and Nutrition in the co-ordination of dietetics services if required
  • Assist with the co-ordination of clinical dietitian students and develop education programs for dietitians and dietitian assistants
  • Assist with the co-ordination of the clinical supervision of the Clinical Dietitians
  • Assist the Department Head of Dietetics and Nutrition in the planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on dietetics services as directed/as required
  • Complete all the duties below and duties listed in the position description for dietitian levels 1, 2, and 3
  • When required, the dietitian will be rostered for overtime duties or weekend and public holidays

Essential Requirements

Qualification: Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer that provides eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical dietetics experience and a broad generalist knowledge of clinical nutrition
  2. Demonstrated evidence of providing advice to managers on clinical service development including implementation/procedure development, evaluation, and redesign.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the clinical supervision of staff/students and evidence of contribution to education activities
  4. Well-developed communication, coaching and facilitation skills.
  5. Ability to work as an effective team member in a busy environment
  6. Excellent time management and organisation skills. Ability to prioritise workload and work independently and in a team
  7. Able to display good computer skills and experience with meal/diet ordering systems such as Cbord and Cerner, virtual programs such as MS Teams, SharePoint and experiences with telehealth and electronic medical records
  8. Experience in designing, implementing, leading, developing and evaluating research/quality improvement projects
