This is a Speech Pathologist Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
Where you'll be working
Join a dedicated and collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for older Australians. As part of the Aged Care Services team, you will work alongside a Nurse Unit Manager, Allied Health professionals, Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) staff, Aged Care Assessors, and Psychogeriatric specialists. You will also have the support of an additional Speech Pathologist who is based at Wingham Community Hospital.
About the role
As a Speech Pathologist in our Aged Care Service, you will provide comprehensive assessments, personalised treatments, and client-focused interventions to enhance the independence, participation, and quality of life of older Australians. You will deliver services across various clinical areas, supporting both in-hospital and community-based care to ensure optimal health outcomes.
You will be well supported by the Service Manager of the Aged Care Services team and have access to online education and external training opportunities to further develop your expertise.
About you
You are an energetic, flexible, and proactive clinician who:
- Has extensive clinical experience relevant to aged care and rehabilitation.
- Possesses excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Is open to self-evaluation, feedback, and continuous learning.
- Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering speech pathology services in aged care or a related field.
