This is an exciting opportunity to join a regional hospital that values professional development, collaboration, and clinical excellence — all in a location offering a relaxed lifestyle, affordable living, and natural beauty.

About the role:
As a Level 3 Social Worker at the Maitland Mental Health Unit, you will play a key role within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, contributing the psychosocial perspective to care. Your focus will include addressing psychosocial stressors, promoting family and cultural inclusion in care planning, and providing specialist input on matters related to family and domestic violence, as well as child protection. You will also support individuals at risk of homelessness and help maintain community connections by linking consumers with appropriate services and supports.

This is an opportunity to use your expertise to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, while working within a team that values collaboration, compassion, and holistic, person-centred care.

You will be part of a small, supportive team of Social Workers based in the unit, with additional professional support provided by a Senior Social Worker from the community team. To support your growth and success, the role includes regular clinical supervision, a comprehensive orientation program, and access to ongoing education and professional development.

This is a position where you will feel supported, valued, and empowered to continue developing your skills and advancing your career in mental health social work.

About you:
We are seeking a compassionate and professional Social Worker who practices from a culturally sensitive perspective. The ideal candidate will be skilled in conducting thorough psychosocial assessments and engaging inclusively with consumers, families, and carers.

You’ll have a strong understanding of the impact of mental health on individuals, be confident collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to balance competing demands are essential.
