Maitland Hospital is seeking committed and career-focused Senior Resident Medical Officers (SRMOs) to join our Orthopaedic Surgery team, with opportunities well suited to those preparing for SET training applications.
This role is designed to support your progression toward surgical training through strong clinical exposure, mentorship, and opportunities to build a competitive portfolio.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary orthopaedic team
- Actively participate in operating theatre, fracture clinic, and acute orthopaedic care
- Consolidate core orthopaedic knowledge and develop procedural capability
- Engage in teaching, audit, and quality improvement activities
- Work closely with consultants and senior registrars, with direct supervision and feedback

- Experience and qualifications commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with demonstrated skills in time management, prioritisation and problem solving.
- High level communication skills, both written and verbal with a demonstrated ability to convey information to both a clinical and non clinical audience.
- Commitment to own continuing professional development and self-education with evidence of motivation to further career in orthopaedics.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
