Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator

About the role:
We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced, and passionate Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator to join the Multiple Sclerosis (and related disorders) team at John Hunter Hospital. The role supports clinical trials sponsored by industry, collaborative groups, and academic institutions and is both challenging and rewarding.
  • You will work in collaboration with a dynamic multidisciplinary team and serve as the primary point of contact for patients to ensure a safe and smooth patient journey.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of trial coordination and management including protocol and budget reviews, ethics and governance submissions, recruitment and retention, booking and conducting study visits, biospecimen collection and processing, patient care and frequent monitoring of clinical trial patients, overseeing treatment administration and compliance, data collection and recording, and invoicing and procurement of trial costs.
  • You will join a dynamic, innovative team contributing to groundbreaking research, and aiming to make a difference in patient care.
  • There is an option to work from home on occasion.
  • The salary is advertised in a range and the annual salary will be determined based on the level of knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • There will be the possibility of an increase in hours and an extension of the contract.

Where you'll be working:
This is primarily an office-based position, located in the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) with visits to John Hunter Hospital.

Ideally, we are looking for you to bring:
  • 3 years of clinical trial coordination/management experience from either a hospital or academic setting working on pharma-sponsored and investigator-led research;
  • An overarching understanding of the clinical trials landscape in NSW and Australia with respect to systems and regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy, and experience with blood sample processing and results reporting
  • Experience managing complex clinical trials, with a track record of timely recruitment and retention.
